Why I resurface concrete with Dulux Avista

Working with Dulux Avista products helps applicators achieve outstanding results for both residential and commercial customers. We asked Gary Trott of Avant Concrete Pumping about his experience using the Dulux Avista Resurfacing System.

Based in Warragul, Victoria, Gary and Linette Trott of Avant Concrete Pumping switched to using the Dulux Avista Resurfacing System several years ago, recognising the time savings and reliable performance it offered.

Why I choose Dulux Avista

Working throughout Gippsland and south east Melbourne, Gary estimates he has resurfaced 40,000 square metres of concrete throughout his career. He says Dulux Avista changed the resurfacing market and what applicators can achieve for their clients.

"Previous resurfacing products on the market required the emulsion to be added and mixed on site," Gary explains. “The Avista product came out with the emulsion already included, so you know it's ready to apply and will deliver a consistent result. It functions just like a render product.”

Resurfacing to protect and style new concrete

As well as resurfacing existing concrete for driveway and patio makeovers, Gary often recommends the system for new concrete.

“We offer resurfacing as a decorative finish on top of new concrete. Not everybody wants exposed aggregate. In fact, we can achieve the look of exposed aggregate with resurfacing. We can also achieve the look of tiles and pavers in a more low maintenance way," Gary explains.

"Resurfacing is a long-wearing option. I think it’s going to be a really big product across new concrete and concrete renovations.”

When Avista joined the DuluxGroup, Gary was quick to sign up as a Dulux Avista Accredited Applicator, which includes dedicated training across the entire product range.

"Dulux has a really good reputation in the commercial and residential sector,” he says. "The quality of the Avista products has improved under Dulux, and so has the service we receive."
